Still working on going through my China photos, but I just got some amazing news yesterday. I was able to sign up for a week-long summer class in which I will be at YELLOWSTONE to observe and study WOLVES! If there's anything you guys show know about me, it's that wolves are my absolute favorite animal and seeing them in the wild has been on my bucket list since as long as I can remember. When I got the email from my Honors advisor about the class, My jaw dropped with amazement. What are the odds that this would happen as a class? I'm absolutely loving the opportunities I'm getting through the Honors program at my college. I'M SO EXCITED!

Dang, it's been forever since I wrote a journal. Sorry guys! Haven't really had anything to update about until now. As the title suggests, I went to China for spring break with 11 other people from the honors program at my college. It was SO MUCH FUN. We went to Beijing, Xi'an, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai, in that order. And I took about 2,000 pictures total. HA! Going and sorting through them to put them on facebook, then I'll sort through them again and put the very best on here. That won't be for a while yet though... so far I've only gone through the Beijing ones.
However, if I never have to eat (or see!) airline food again..... I will be perfectly fine. My tummy is still not happy about that, and I got back a week ago tomorrow

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone has had a great year and a great holiday season. For Christmas, I bought myself a pack of drawing pads from the bookstore at my university. It came with a 150+ page hardcover book, and 3 sketchbooks with 25 - 40 pages each. Supplies were on sale that day, so I got the bundle for about 12 bucks. What a deal! (I was of course buying Christmas presents for family at the time too ) When I got home for the holiday break I realized I left my drawing pencils at school >.< Luckily I didn't feel like drawing for the first chunk of the month XD and then even luckier, my sister got me a pack of 12 drawing pencils for Christmas! I tried them out yesterday with my hardback drawing book - HOLY COW they are amazing!!!! Don't think I will ever use my old pencils again! Or my old paper for that matter XD So I'll probably be drawing quite a bit before I go back to school. Won't be able to upload any of it until I get back to school though, because my scanner is in my dorm. Oh well! I'll just have a nice little collection to put up then hopefully I am VERY satisfied with my drawing from last night.

Anyway! I hope everyone has a fun New Years Eve, and be safe

Finally getting some time to upload some of my photos! Most are going to be ones I took for my portfolio for my photography class last year. Don't know how many I'm going to upload, so sorry in advance if it's overwhelming XD

And for ANOTHER bright note.... WE'VE GOT SNOW!!!! I've been waiting for it! It started a couple nights ago, got about a couple inches from that. Then yesterday morning I woke up at 8 and it started snowing again - really big flakes, coming down really thick - and it didn't stop until about 4. So we've got a ton of snow It's trying to come down some more right now, but looking out my window the few falling snowflakes look like bugs flying around in the air XD

My best friend's dad passed away the other morning in his sleep. The cause isn't known yet, but he was quite young still. He was an incredible man... had a huge heart, and an amazing sense of humor to match. He practically adopted me as part of the family from the moment I met him, and never failed to make me smile.  He was always the funnest person to talk to in that house - never a dull moment in a conversation with him. He's also the one who started the nickname that my best friend calls me all the time.... and I can still hear him in my head calling me that. My mind is still trying to tell me this isn't real.....
Heading back home on Saturday for the funeral.

On a different note, my classes started today. I can tell they're going to be good. My best friend's boyfriend (the friend mentioned above) is in my Biology class, and my Honor's professor is just the funniest guy in the freakin' world (not in a joke-telling sense, but more of his word choice in conversation - gotta love college and the language that comes with it!)

Anyway... rest in peace, Mr. Lee, I love you and your family like my own.
